It all started…

On March 1987 three Orthodox monastics from Romania desired to pursue missionary work in America established what it is known today The Dormition of the Mother of God Orthodox Monastery.

Located in South-Central Michigan the monastery has grown, slowly but steadily. After 25 years of conducting services in a pole barn that was transformed into a chapel, the main church of the monastery was finished and consecrated in 2013.

A guest house, a summer pavilion, a giftshop, a museum, a cemetery chapel were built throughout the years.
